Campground was very convenient to the National Park as well as clean and pleasant. My teenage grandaughters didn't think there was quite enough to do, but Grandma disagrees!

We were here at the height of salmon fishing which is very convenient from your site, but is also a crazy busy time and if one is flexible, one might enjoy this place. There are loose running dogs, loose running small children, people who enjoy their beer A LOT, and the sites are 4 inches from each other. (You can hand beer to your neighbor from your window. Or his dog....) Weekdays were quieter and early in the summer is better than late June/July. But it is lovely and quirky and the pinks tasted good.

This park is too small and cramped, plus it is next to a busy, noisy highway. Good news is the park is clean and the lake is lovely. Unfortunately when we visited, there was a group occupying the limited lake access and it wasn't comfortable to intrude. The books give it good ratings, but I would skip it next time.

Really nice clean pretty park. Quiet. Small playground, huge lake, nice people. CG hosts were just super. We're headed West so just stayed one night. If not on a trip would have liked a week.

This park is intended to be a snowbird seasonal park with park model pads, but apparently this didn't fly, and thus there are many spaces available, and mostly motor homes and fifth wheels are present. Nice facilities--heated pool, whirlpool, computer room, big laundry, rec room. Very clean and the managers do a very good job. We needed a "luxury stay" after some time in the desert and this place hit the spot. Best shopping is in Casa Grande. Grocery in Eloy is friendly but we aren't Hispanic and the food/deli choices weren't as appealing to us.

This large, desert park on a 500 acre lake, is just lovely and offers so many choices of service level and campsite privacy. Wild burros, great crappie and bass fishing, nice people, beautiful mountain sunsets.....We'll be back!

This is a great state park with the added attraction of Caverns that are reported to be fabulous (I'm not a cave person) and the park is so lovely, well appointed and has such beauty that it is hard to leave. Good base to see Tombstone and Bisbee if you are so inclined. Shopping is better in Sierra Vista than Benson and distance is just a little greater. Ranger presentations, hiking and birds abound.

This park has everything we--an older couple with dogs--needs! It is clean and well kept. The managers are nice, friendly, helpful and know stuff when you ask. They are smart--there is a fenced dog area so the dogs can run free and loosen up. (Why doesn't everybody do that?) The views are beautiful and this is a good base camp for lots of interesting side trips. Just a well managed, well fitted park in a great winter Texan location.

This was a favorite campground 8 years ago and we later learned it had been closed, so we were delighted to learn that the proposed condo project fell thru and the campground was re-opened. It is beautiful, you watch the shrimp boats go out and buy great shrimp a day later! The managers are very nice, helpful, the area is interesting and this is a happy place to camp.

Now this park gets great TL reviews and I guess I understand that some people would love this place, but I felt uncomfortable every minute we were there. It is one of those parks with mostly motor homes lined up row after row, with a big high fence around it. There was very poor accommodation for pets--very small patches here and there to poop on and god almighty there are cameras posted everywhere with signs telling you cameras are watching you--including on the bathrooms which raised a giant question in my mind. Mostly people seemed to be there for the whole season and mostly there was a nod your way but no real warmth as we are accustomed to more often in the state and national parks. It was a little community really that watched whatever you do apparently and didn't trust you. If you enjoy nature this is not the right place. I believe bird poop would be against the rules.

We have camped here before the hurricane and after. The repairs are progressing very well and sites have been upgraded to include sewer. This year we camped on Canal Road which is waterfront on the canal between the two lakes. It is a short walk to the beach and there is very little traffic. It costs more and there is a 2 week limit, but these sites were nice for us especially since we have 2 labs. The city of Gulf Shores has a dog park now too which was GREAT. The laundromat and store area at the park pre-hurricane aren't fully restored, but there is a new meeting room with Wi-Fi.
